Which repair is most common?
Torsion spring replacement, by a wide margin. A standard spring is rated for about 10,000 cycles, about seven to ten years, and Florida doors cycle hard because the garage is the storage room, the workshop and the second front door. Springs do not fail from cold here; they fail from cycle count, with humidity and salt air corroding the spring and the cable beside it.
Do you charge to come out and look?
We quote before we dispatch, based on what you describe, and the number does not change on arrival unless we find something you did not know about, in which case we tell you before doing anything. We do not use a $29 advertised call-out fee to get in the door.
Do you work on commercial garage doors?
Our published prices cover residential doors. We do take commercial enquiries, but a rolling steel or high-cycle commercial door is a different job with different parts and a different wind load calculation, so it is quoted individually rather than from this list.
