Common additions
| Item | Price | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Both springs replaced together | Adds $150 to $300 | Rather than doubling, because most of the labor is shared |
| Cable and drum together | $250 to $425 | When the drum is damaged as well as the cable |
| Cable tension adjustment only | $95 to $150 | When the cable slipped off the drum but is not damaged |

| Labor, where quoted hourly | $50 to $150 per hour | New York market rate, used only for non-standard work |
Written before, not after
You get the price in writing before anything is touched, and that number is what the invoice says.
No bait call-out fee
We do not advertise a $29 visit and make the money on parts quoted once your door is in pieces.
The failed part, shown
If we say a part failed we show it to you. A recommendation you cannot see is a recommendation you cannot check.
Questions about pricing
Are these your real prices or an advertisement?
They are real starting prices for a standard single garage door in normal condition. The final number depends on the door, the model and what we find, and you get it in writing before any work starts. What we will not do is name a low number to get in the door and raise it once the door is apart.
Why does nobody else publish prices?
Because a published price is a commitment and a quote given on site is not. It is also why cost searches are dominated by directories rather than by garage door companies: the question gets asked constantly and almost nobody in the trade answers it.
What is a fair price for two garage door springs in New York?
Roughly $320 to $700 installed for a standard door. Quotes well above that for two standard springs are worth a second opinion. High-cycle springs and oversized doors legitimately cost more, and anyone quoting them should say which one applies.
Do you charge a service call fee?
Not as a separate bait fee. We quote the job before we dispatch based on what you describe. Genuine emergency and after-hours dispatch carries a call-out premium of $200 to $350, and it is stated before we send anyone.
Is the emergency premium charged on top of the repair?
Yes, and only for genuine after-hours or same-day emergency dispatch. The repair itself is quoted at the same published price it would carry on any other day. We do not raise repair prices because it is an emergency.
Do you offer a warranty?
One year on parts and one year on labor for the work we do. The warranty is written on the invoice rather than promised verbally.
Describe the problem and we will give you the number
